BioRescue consortium continues ambitious rhino reproduction programme with successful oocyte collection at Schwerin Zoo (Germany).
Top researchers and zoological institutions work hand in hand to develop advanced technologies for assisted reproduction. These methods are the last straw for highly endangered species such as the Northern White Rhino.
On August 18, the BioRescue team successfully collected ten oocytes (immature egg cells) from the last two northern white rhinos, females Najin and Fatu, in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya.
